When I was a young girl up until the age of twelve my family moved constantly. My mother was single and had to provide for six children of which I was the youngest. I made friends easily but time and again had to leave them behind. Despite all of that, I didn’t go without.
My mom was a good provider and even put herself through school while working and caring for all of us. Degree in hand, she became a special education teacher for the Seattle School District in 1973 and bought a home for us to grow up in.
Because of her hard work we got to settle down and I went to only one junior high and high school. I still remember that house and all the holidays, Christmases, school dances and more I got to experience there. The relationships I forged back then in that home are still with me to this day and I’ll never stop being appreciative of the difference having that place to call, “home,” made in my life.
That is why I’m clear about what my purpose is. Helping people find their, “Home with Heart,” the home that they can build their own wonderful memories in.
